Women's Track & Field Captures UAA Titles in Five Events on Sunday

The Emory University women's track and field team claimed five event championships and nine All-UAA finishes on Sunday as the Eagles finished third as a team at the UAA Championships with 149 team points.

Senior Dani Bland accounted for four of the team's five event titles, winning gold in both the 100m and 200m Dashes and as a member of the 4x100m and 4x400m relays. She turned in the lone sub-12 second time in the 100m, winning at 11.93 before winning by almost a half second in the 200m with a mark of 24.84.

The Eagles bookended the meet with relay titles as Bland along with Dilys Osei, Michelle Rosenblum and Rebekah Bondi won easily with a time of 47.68 in the 4x100m while Bland, Osei, Rosenblum and freshman Hannah Lansberry edged out Chicago in the 4x400m with a time of 3:49.78.

Osei added an individual title for the Eagles as she dominated in the 400m Hurdles, winning by over two seconds at 1:01.05. Osei was also an All-UAA finisher in the 100m Hurdles, placing third at 14.78.

Lansberry, Bondi, and sophomore Taylor Robinson rounded out the All-UAA finishers on Sunday for the Eagles as both Lansberry and Bondi recorded runner-up finishes in the 400m Dash (57.96) and 100m Dash (12.18), respectfully, while Robinson earned bronze in the javelin at 37.82.
