The Emory University women's indoor track & field team finished the first day of the UAA Indoor Championships in Cleveland, OH in fifth place with five total events having been scored to this point.

For the women, senior Alex Devaux captured a UAA title for her performance in the weight throw event. Devaux was phenomenal, throwing a distance of 16.23m which earned her a first-place finish at the meet by nearly a meter and marks the new indoor program record, surpassing the record of 16.20m previously set by Paris Wagner in 2019 at the UAA Indoor Championships.

Elsewhere on the field, freshman Alexandra Feurer scored for the Eagles in the pole vault where she cleared a distance of 3.17m which was good for an eighth-place tie. In the long jump, freshman Maura Dianno won her preliminary heat and placed ninth in the final with a distance of 5.02m which marks a new personal record.

In the individual track events, the Eagles had ten runners with performances that qualified them for the final heats to be held on Sunday. In the 60m hurdles, sophomore Amaya Martin (9.23) and junior Claire Evans (9.24) recorded times that allowed them to advance to tomorrow's final. Evans also excelled in the 400m dash where she, alongside teammates Dashiel Tao Harris and Paige Murdock, earned a spot in tomorrow's big race.

Sophomore Ella Lavelle crossed the finish line in 7.94 seconds in the 60m dash, finishing with the seventh-best time to grant her the opportunity to compete for the crown. The Eagles had three runners, sophomore Libby Ranocha (2:20.04), junior Lauren Anshen (2:20.66), and freshman Jenna Daly (2:21.34), who qualified for the finals of the 800m run whereas senior Jessica Barbarosh and freshman Kaya Binetti finished back-to-back in seventh and eighth place, respectively in the 200m dash to qualify for the finals.
