For the 12th time this academic calendar, Emory University women's track & field senior Annika Urban has been named the University Athletic Association Athlete of the Week as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon.
Urban earns the weekly accolade as she continues to crush the competition like clockwork, this time setting not just program records but national records as well. Urban, competing in the 5,000m run at the Bryan Clay Invite, registered a time of 16:06.95 to win her heat, moving her into third all-time in the history of Division III in the event. Her time bested the previous school record by nearly 40 seconds and is almost 20 seconds faster than anyone in Division III this season according to TFRRS.
The Eagles and Urban look to continue their impressive outdoor season this weekend with the UAA Championships in Chicago, Illinois.
