Sophomore libero Brannan O'Neill led a
strong defensive effort this past weekend in helping the Eagles to
a 3-0 mark at the UAA Round Robin I. O'Neill played in all 10
sets and averaged a team-high 4.60 digs per set that helped Emory
hold its opponents to just a 16.4 hitting percentage.
O'Neill led all players with 16 digs in a 3-0 win over Chicago on
Saturday before totaling 13, second high on the squad, in helping
in a 3-1 triumph over NYU on Sunday. In the finale, she once
again paced all performers with 17 digs, her second-highest total
on the year, in a 3-0 verdict against Carnegie Mellon.
Through 20 matches, she is tops on the club with a 3.46 digs per
set average and has 10 performances of double-figures in digs to
her credit.
