Sophomore middle blocker Alexandra Wright
turned in a pair of big outings in helping the No. 2-ranked Eagles
to a split of two matches. The 5-foot-10 Wright posted an
attack percentage of 50 percent in the two outings (22-2-40) while
coming up with six blocks. In a 3-2 setback to NCAA Division
II member North Alabama, Wright racked up 10 kills and tied for the
team lead with four blocks. Wright followed that performance
by pacing the squad with a career-best 12 terminations, hitting
66.7 percent (12-0-18), while chipping in a pair of blocks as Emory
subdued Maryville College, 3-1.
Emory volleyball, 10-2 on the year, returns to action on Tuesday,
Sept. 22, when it hosts Alabama-Huntsville.
