The No. 1-ranked Emory University volleyball team remained
undefeated as it posted a 3-0 win (25-15, 25-17, 25-18) over King
College Saturday afternoon at the Emory Volleyball Classic.
The victory raises the Eagles' record to 4-0 while King falls to
3-1.
Emory finished with a fine 35.0 hitting percentage (48-13-100) and
was paced by senior Alysse Meyer and sophomore Jessica McAlvany
with kills 11 apiece. Meyer recorded an excellent 57.9 attack
percentage (11-0-19) while McAlvany finished with a 29.2 percent
effort (11-4-24). Junior Amelia McCall chipped in seven
terminations while freshman Breanah Bourque came off the bench to
provide four kills and a pair of block solos.
Sophomore Natalie Schonefeld dished out 36 assists and totaled five
digs. Senior Vista Murphy recorded a match-high 10 digs as
the Eagles finished with a 45-32 edge in that department.
Emory closes out play at the Classic with a 3:30 p.m. contest
against SUNY-New Paltz.
