Sophomore Breanah Bourque
helped the Eagles to a 5-0 record that included a championship
performance at the Maryville College Tournament. The
5-foot-10 Bourque recorded double-figure kills in all five matches
and ended the opening week of play with a 48.3 hitting percentage
(66-9—118). After tying for team lead with 10
terminations in a season-opening win against Berry College on Sept.
1, Borque hit 51.5 percent (56-6—97) in sparking the team to
four victories at the Maryville Tournament. Included in her totals
was a career-high 19 kills in a 3-2 come-from-behind win over Mount
St. Joseph.
Against Maryville, she posted a team-best 13 kills, hit 57.1
percent (13-1—21), recorded five digs and came through with
three block solos. In addition to her hitting totals, she chalked
up 15 digs, six block solos and two block assists in the five
outings.
