Senior Amelia McCall helped
the Eagles to a 3-0 record at the UAA Round Robin I this past
weekend. The 5-foot-10 McCall played in all nine of the
team’s sets and averaged a team-leading 4.22 kills and 4.11
digs (second high on the squad) per game. McCall posted
double-doubles in kills and digs in all three matches and topped
the team in terminations in each outing. In a 3-0 win over
No. 23 NYU on Saturday, she paced all players with 14 successful
attacks, hit 28.9 percent (14-3—38) and recorded 10 digs. On
Sunday, she led all players once again with 11 kills and tied for
match honors with 12 digs as Emory notched a 3-0 triumph over
Carnegie. She then closed out the weekend by racking up 13
kills along with a season-high 15 digs as the Eagles prevailed over
Case Western Reserve by a 3-0 count.
Emory, 16-2 on the year, returns to action on Thursday (Oct. 7)
with a road match at USC-Aiken.
