Sophomore Breanah Bourque was named the NCCA
Volleyball Atlanta Regional Most Outstanding Player after helping
the Eagles to three wins and advancing them to the quarterfinal
round of the NCAA Championships next weekend.
The 5-foot-10 middle blocker averaged 3.25 kills and hit a
team-high 42.5 percent (39-5—80) as Emory raised its overall
record to 34-4. In addition, she averaged a team-high 1.17
blocks per set. In the regional final against No. 20-ranked
Cal Lutheran, Bourque led the squad with a match-high 17
terminations en route to a 51.7 attack percentage
(17-2—29). She also racked up five block assists as
Emory battled to a five-set win. She totaled 10 or more
terminations in all three matches including 12 put-aways, along
with five block assists, in a 3-1 victory over Washington & Lee
in the semifinals. In the regional opener against Piedmont, she was
second high on the team with 10 kills and contributed four (1-3)
total blocks in a 3-0 sweep.
