The Emory volleyball team opened the University Athletic
Association Champions on Friday with a win over the University of
Rochester. The Eagles, seeded No. 1 in the Championships,
upped their overall record to 28-4 (7-1 UAA) following a 3-0 win
(25-19, 25-20, 25-12) over the eighth-seeded Yellowjackets who
slipped to 14-17 overall.
Sophomore Breanah Bourque led the Emory effort with nine kills
while contributing six (3-3) total blocks. Senior Amelia
McCall totaled seven terminations and chipped in a team-high nine
digs in the win. Junior Natalie Schonefeld dished out 23
assists while sophomore Molly Landers and senior Kelsey Krzyston
each posted eight digs.
The Eagles’ next match is against host Case Western Reserve
at 2:00 p.m. today.
