Junior middle Breanah Bourque earned Emory
National All-Tournament honors after helping the No. 3-ranked
Eagles to four victories that raised the team’s overall
record to 24-1. Bourque played in all 12 of the team’s
sets and posted a team leading hitting percentage of .524
(39-6—63) while topping the squad with 1.33 blocks per game
and ranking second with a 3.25 kills-per-set showing. Bourque
led or tied for the team’s lead in kills in two of the four
matches including the Maryville College contest where he racked up
a match-best 12 terminations en route to a .846 attack percentage
(12-1—13). In addition, she posted seven total blocks
against the Lady Scots in the 3-0 win that represented Jenny
McDowell’s 500th career victory as a coach.
Earlier in the day, she registered a .625 hitting percentage
(12-2—16) and tied Amelia McCall for match honors with 12
kills in a 3-0 decision over Lynchburg College. Bourque also
posted four (2-2) total blocks against the Hornets.
