Senior setter Natalie Schonefeld enjoyed a
memorable weekend in helping the Eagles to a 4-0 mark at the Emory
Homecoming Tournament. The 5-foot-7 Schonefeld became the
school’s all-time leader in assists in the second set of the
Berry match on Saturday, surpassing Amy Shapiro’s (1996-99)
previous standard of 4,878. Schonefeld, who entered the
contest needing 19 assists to assume to No. 1 spot, dished out 34,
while chipping in seven digs, in the 3-0 win over the Vikings,
upping her career total to 4,894. Over the entire weekend,
she played in nine of the team’s 13 sets and averaged 9.44
assists and 2.11 digs per set.
