Amelia McCall Named UAA Volleyball Player Of The Week

Emory University senior outside hitter Amelia McCall (Montgomery, AL) has been named the University Athletic Association Volleyball Player of the Week following her performance at the conference's Round Robin II.  It is the second time this season and fourth time in her career that she has been tabbed for the honor.

The 5-foot-10 McCall helped No.3-ranked Emory to a 4-0 record at the UAA Round Robin II.  Playing in 11 of the team's 14 sets, she topped the squad with a 4.00 kills-per-set average while registering a .402 attack percentage (44-7—92).  In addition, she ranked second on the club with a 2.91 digs-per-set effort as the Eagles' boosted their overall record to 28-2 (7-0 UAA).  She led Emory in terminations in all three of the matches she played in, including a 19-kills performance in a 3-2 victory over No. 2 Washington University, a match where she hit .348 (19-3—46) while also contributing 10 digs, her 13th double-double of the year.  In the opening contests against NYU and Carnegie Mellon, she chalked up double-doubles while leading all players with 13 and 12 kills, respectively, while posting a .579 attack percentage (12-1—19) against the Tartans.

In UAA statistics released Oct. 17, McCall is tied for the No. 1 spot with a 4.02 kills-per set average and is eighth in digs (3.30 dps).

Emory returns to action on Oct. 21 when it plays at Berry College.
