Breanah Bourque Named UAA Volleyball Player Of The Week

Breanah Bourque Named UAA Volleyball Player Of The Week

Emory University junior middle hitter Breanah Bourque (Houston, TX) has been named the University Athletic Association Volleyball Player of the Week following her performance in last Friday's contest at Berry College.  It is the first time this season and second time in her career that she has been tabbed for the honor.

The 5-foot-11 Bourque helped No. 2-ranked Emory to a 3-0 triumph over Berry, tying for team honors with nine kills while registering a squad-high .429 attack percentage (9-3—14).  In addition, she contributed five digs and two block assists as the Eagles boosted their overall record to 29-2.  Bourque's attack percentage marked her eighth straight outing of hitting .400 or higher.

In matches played through Oct. 23, Bourque tops the team and the UAA with a .454 hitting percentage while standing second on the squad and fifth in the conference with a 3.37 kills-per-set average.  She also figures prominently on the league ladder with a 0.90 blocks-per-set average, good for the No. 5 spot.

The Eagles return to action this Friday and Saturday (Oct. 28-29) when they host the Emory National Invitational Tournament.
