Emory's Molly Landers Named UAA Volleyball Co-Player Of The Week

Emory's Molly Landers Named UAA Volleyball Co-Player Of The Week

Emory University sophomore libero Molly Landers (Kentfield, CA) has been named the University Athletic Association Volleyball Co-Player of the Week following her performance at the Emory National Invitational Tournament.  It is the first time in her career that she has been tabbed for the honor.

Landers was stellar defensively, helping the Eagles to a 3-1 Invitational record.  The 5-foot-5 Landers averaged a team-high 4.79 digs per set that helped play a key role in Emory's four opponents mustering just a .053 hitting percentage over the weekend.  In the opening match of the Invitational, she led all players with 21 digs, tying her second-highest career mark, in a 3-0 victory over Washington & Lee.  She followed that performance with a match-best 16 digs in a 3-0 triumph over No. 12 Juniata.  In the final match of the weekend, she totaled 18 digs in a five-set battle vs. Lee University.

Through 35 matches, Landers tops the team and stands seventh among UAA players with a 3.74 digs-per-set average with her total of 438 digs ranking fourth on the school's seasonal ladder.

Emory, 32-3 on the year, returns to action on Friday (Nov. 4) when it plays Brandeis in the opening round of the UAA Championships in New York.
