Emory University freshman setter Sydney Miles (Oklahoma City, OK) has been named by the University Athletic Association as Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week following her performance over four matches, three of which came at league's Round Robin I.  It is the first time that she has been tabbed for the honor.

The 6-foot-1 Miles helped the No. 6-ranked Eagles to a 4-0 ledger in the matches she saw action in, averaging 10.54 assists, 1.54 digs and 1.15 kills per set.  One of her efforts saw her hit .700 (seven kills, no errors, 10 attacks) with seven digs and 31 assists in a three-set victory over NYU.  In addition, she totaled 28 assists, five digs, and two kills in a sweep of 14^th-ranked University of Chicago. The Eagles finished 3-0 at the UAA Round Robin in Chicago.

In UAA statistics released on Oct. 1, Miles ranks No. 2 in the league in assists (10.1 aps).  Emory, 19-3 on the season, returns to action the weekend of Oct. 13-14 when it competes at the UAA Round Robin II in Pittsburgh.
