NCAA D-III Volleyball Championships Bracket


The Emory volleyball team will head to Newport News Va., this weekend (Nov. 9-11) when it opens NCAA D-III Championships play.  The Eagles' (31-5 overall) first-round opponent on Friday will be Salem College of the Great South Athletic Conference with that affair starting at 3:00 p.m.  The Spirits of Salem head into the tourney the owners of a 14-13 record and gained an automatic bid after defeating Huntingdon College, 3-1, in the league title match.

The winner of the Emory vs. Salem match advances to Saturday's regional semifinals to play the victor of the Trinity University (20-15) vs No. 23 Juniata College (24-11) matchup. 

Other first-round match-ups include Randolph-Macon (23-6) vs. Galluadet (31-6) and Washington & Lee  (26-9) vs. No. 5-ranked Christopher Newport  (36-2).

Emory captured an automatic bid to postseason play after claiming its third University Athletic Association Championships, defeating No. 1-ranked Washington University, 3-1, in the title match.

Serving as the host of the Regional will be Christopher Newport University.  All matches will be contested at the Freeman Center on the CNU campus.  A schedule of the matches for the Newport News, VA, Regional is as follows.

Randolph-Macon vs. Gallaudet -- 5:30 pm
Washington and Lee vs. Christopher Newport -- 8:00 pm

Saturday, Nov. 10 (semifinals)
Trinity/Juniata winner vs. Salem/Emory winner -- 2:30 pm
Randolph-Macon/Gallaudet winner vs. W&L/Christopher Newport winner - 5:00 pm
