The No. 4-ranked Emory volleyball team has advanced to the finals of the Newport News, Virginia, NCAA Regional following a victory Saturday afternoon against No. 23 Juniata College in the semifinal round.  The Eagles won their sixth straight match and upped their record to 33-5 following a 3-1 decision (19-25, 28-26, 25-19, 25-18) over Juniata who closed out its season with a ledger of 25-12.

After hitting a season-best .506 in its regional opener against Salem, Emory maintained its efficient offensive pace against JC, registering a .314 (69-15—172) attack percentage, the fifth match in the past six outings of hitting hit .300 or higher.  The Eagles' 69 terminations tied a season high set earlier against Cal Lutheran (Sept. 14) in a five-set affair and represented the seventh time during the campaign they had compiled 60 or more successful attacks.

Senior Breanah Bourque was a wrecking machine for Emory, slugging away for a career-high tying 24 kills and finishing with a .488 hitting percentage (24-4—41).   Bourque also chalked up five block assists.  Senior Alex Duhl picked up 11 terminations, her 13th match of double figures this year, while sophomore Cami Silverman chipped in 10 kills and 15 digs, her fifth straight and 12th double-double on the year.  Freshman setter Sydney Miles dished out a season-best 55 assists and contributed a dozen digs in the cause with classmate Taylor Erwin led all players with 22 digs.

Emory will meet No. 5-ranked Christopher Newport in the regional final on Sunday starting at 2:00 p.m.  The Captains, 38-2 and host of the regional, advanced following a 3-2 win over Randolph-Macon.   CNU knocked Emory out of the NCAA Tournament last with a 3-0 win at Newport News.
