Emory Volleyball Recruiting Class Earns High Marks

The Emory University volleyball program's incoming freshman class has been recognized as one of the premier groups in the nation by Prepvolleyball.com.

The Eagles' eight-member contingent earned Highest Honorable Mention acclaim by the website, and was the lone Division III program to earn a spot in that group and one of the two D-III schools among the 99 teams that were recognized.  The recruiting classes were broken down by the Top 30 (Nebraska No. 1, USC No. 2), Highest Honorable Mention and High Honorable Mention.  Other program's that shared Highest Honorable Mention Honors with Emory included Duke, Marquette University, Texas & AM and Iowa State.

The eight rookies who will be competing on the 2013 Emory volleyball team include  Maggie Collins (Lawrenceville, Georgia), Ashley Cozart, (Tampa, Florida); Catalina Jimenez (New York),  Jessica Holler (Roswell, Georgia), Kathryn Trinka (North Bay Village, Florida), Sarah Maher   (Orange, California), Shannon Nugent (Vernon Hills, Illinois) and Sheridan Rice (Solana Beach, California).

Emory opens the 2013 campaign the weekend of Aug. 30-31 when it plays at the Wittenberg Courtyard Marriott National Invitational.
