Junior Kate Bowman was named the MVP of the Emory
Invitational after helping the No. 4-ranked Eagles to four wins
while boosting the squad's overall record to 14-1.
Bowman played in three matches, logging 10 sets of play, and
averaged a team-high 2.90 kills while her 3.20 digs-per-set average
was third on the squad. In the team's opening match of the
Invitational, a 3-0 triumph over Emory and Henry, Bowman led all
players with 12 kills and nine digs. She followed that performance
with eight terminations, second on the team, eight digs and three
blocks assists in a 3-0 verdict over Maryville. In the final outing
of the weekend, Bowman was second high on the club with eight kills
and 15 digs in aiding in a 3-1 win against Wellesley.
Bowman has played in 14 of the Eagles' 15 matches this year and
has recorded six efforts of double-figure kills and has totaled
five double-doubles (kills/digs).
