Sophomore setter Sydney Miles turned in an outstanding weekend
in helping the Emory volleyball team to a 3-0 record at the
Courtyard Marriott Invitational hosted by Wittenberg
University.
The 6-foot-1 Miles averaged 10.33 assists, 2.08 digs and 1.00 kills
per set as the Eagles defeated No. 1-ranked St. Thomas (3-2), No.
3-ranked Wittenberg (3-1) and Johns hopkins (3-0). Miles, who
played in all 12 of the team's sets, doled out 42 assists and
chipped in eight digs in the victory over St. Thomas in the opener
of the Invitational before totaling 47 assists and 11 digs in the
verdict over the host Tigers.
Emory returns to action the weekend of Sept. 6-7 when it takes part
in the Randolph-Macon Tournament.
