The No. 4-ranked Emory volleyball team closed out its participation at the University Athletic Association Round Robin I on Sunday with a victory over host Case Western Reserve University. The Eagles nailed down their 11th consecutive win following their 3-0 decision (25-18, 25-9, 25-21) over the Spartans, and in the process raised their overall record to 21-1 (3-0 UAA).
Junior Cat McGrath led a balanced offensive effort with a match-high 10 kills while closing out the contest with a .368 hitting percentage (10-1—17). Junior Leah Jacobs chipped in nine terminations while freshman Jessica holler totaled eight successful attack attempts along with a match-leading five blocks. For the contest, Emory turned in a .368 attack percentage (46-7—106) compared to CWRU's mark of .168 (35-17—107). Emory held a slim 47-45 advantage in digs and was led in that category by sophomore Taylor Erwin who chalked up a dozen. Sophomore Sydney Miles dished out 31 assists and contributed seven kills in the victory.
Emory returns to action on Tuesday (Oct. 8) when it hosts Lee University in a 7:00 pm start.
