Emory Volleyball Sweeps Lee

The Emory volleyball team captured its 12th straight victory Tuesday evening when it returned home to defeat Lee University.  The Eagles raised their overall record to 22-1 following a 3-0 verdict (25-17, 25-23, 25-19) over the Flames who slipped to 6-5.

Emory hit .337 (43-9—101) for the match compared to Lee's mark of .111 (36-24—108).  It represented the Eagles fifth straight and 10th time in the last 12 matches that they had finished with an effort of .300 or higher.   Junior Leah Jacobs was the lone Emory player to finish in double figures with 10 kills while classmate Kate Bowman contributed nine terminations and 10 digs.  Freshman Jessica Holler concluded the contest with a .412 attack percentage (9-2—17) and paced the squad with four total blocks.  Sophomore Sydney Miles doled out 32 assists and sophomore Taylor Erwin led all players with 15 digs.

Emory has the upcoming weekend off and will return to action, Oct. 19-20, when ventures to St. Louis to compete in the UAA Round Robin II.
