Sophomore middle Jessica Holler helped the
Emory volleyball team to four wins over nationally ranked opponents
at the Cal Lutheran Invitational.
The 6-foot-1 Holler played in all 14 Eagle sets over the weekend
and paced the team with a .397 attack percentage (39-8--78) and a
1.86 blocks-per-set average, while ranking second in kills (2.79
kps), in helping the squad raise its overall record to 7-1. She led
Emory in blocks in all four contests including a career-high
10-blocks outing vs. No. 15 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps that tied the
program's eighth-highest individual mark. In a 3-2 decision over
No. 23 Mary Hardin-Baylor, Holler tied for the No. 2 spot on the
squad with 15 kills, hit .560 (15-1--25) and produced a team-high
seven (1-6) total blocks. Earlier in the Invitational, she
spearheaded the Eagles' offensive effort with a team-leading nine
terminations en route to finishing with a .500 attack percentage
(9-0--18), while contributing six blocks (2-4), in a decisive 3-0
win over No. 4-ranked Cal Lutheran.
So far this year, Holler has played in all of Emory's 28 sets and
is hitting at a team-leading .418 clip (75-14--146) while ranking
tops on the team with a 1.46 blocks-per-set average.
