Senior outside hitter Leah Jacobs earned a berth on the Berry
College Invitational All-Tournament Team after helping the Eagles
to a 3-1 record.
Jacobs paced the squad with a 5.00 kills-per-set average and
concluded the weekend with an attack percentage of .344
(70-18--151). In addition, she averaged 1.21 digs and 0.57
blocks per set, seeing action in all 14 games. She recorded
double-figure kills in three contests and led the team in that
category on three occasions. One of her efforts was a
career-best 27 terminations, the program's eighth-highest
individual total, with no errors in 44 swings with those numbers
translating into a blazing .614 hitting mark in a 3-0 triumph over
Berry College. In the match prior to Berry, she topped all
players with 18 successful attack attempts, while chipping in six
digs, in a four-set battle against DePauw.
Emory returns to action the weekend of Sept. 5-6 when it competes
at the Cal Lutheran Invitational.
