Emory Volleyball Rolls By Brandeis At UAA Round Robin II

The No. 3-ranked Emory volleyball team got back into the win column Sunday morning with a victory over Brandeis University at the University Athletic Association Round Robin II.  The Eagles posted a 3-0 decision over the Judges (25-14, 25-18, 25-8), raising their overall record to 26-3 and 5-1 in the conference.  Hosting the UAA Round Robin II is the University of Chicago.

Emory hit a season-high .438 (43-8—80), the fourth time this season that it had posted an attack percentage of .400 or higher, and held BU to just .037 (20-17—82).  The Eagles spread out its offensive opportunities with four players finishing with six or more kills, led by sophomore Jessica Holler who blasted away for 14 terminations, tying her second-highest output of the campaign, en route to compiling a .500 hitting mark.  Holler also recorded four total blocks (1-3), helping the Eagles to an 8-2 cushion in that department.   Sophomore Sarah Maher hit a blazing .778 on the strength of seven kills with no errors in nine attempts, while senior Leah Jacobs and sophomore Kathryn Trinka each added six successful attack attempts.  Junior setter Sydney Miles dished out 33 assists and contributed five digs in the win.

Emory will close out the Round Robin II Sunday afternoon with a 3:00 pm match (EDT) against Chicago.
