Stats

The No. 5-ranked Emory volleyball team continued its run in the NCAA D-III Tournament Saturday evening, notching a second-round decision over Thomas More.  The Eagles advanced to Sunday's championship match in the Saint Louis Regional following a hard-fought 3-0 verdict (25-23, 25-21, 26-24) over the Saints.  The win upped Emory's winning streak to 11 matches and raised their overall record to 36-3.  Thomas More closed out its season at 30-5.

Emory hit .226 (41-15—115) in the contest compared to TMC's mark of .094 (36-24—127), the 37th time this season it has enjoyed the advantage in attack percentage.  The Eagles held a 63-56 advantage in digs and a 6-2 margin in total blocks.

Senior Leah Jacobs set the pace for the Emory offensive attack with a match-high 12 kills, six coming in the third set, while registering a solid .333 hitting percentage.  It marked her 24th outing of double-figure kills this year.  Sophomore Jessica Holler added 11 terminations in the victory and also contributed three of the squad's seven service aces and four total (1-3) blocks.  Senior libero Kate Bowman totaled a team-leading 21 digs, her 11th contest of the year with 20 or more.  Bowman now has 626 digs this year, good for the No. 3 spot on the Eagles' seasonal chart.

Emory will play either Hendrix College or host Washington University on Sunday for the regional crown.  The match will start at 4:00 pm (CST) with the winner advancing to the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Championships next week in Newport News, Va.
