Colorado College Dispatches Whitworth in Three Sets

The NCAA Division III Volleyball Championship Atlanta Regional began Friday afternoon with Colorado College defeating Whitworth in three sets (25-13, 25-16, 25-16) at the Woodruff PE Center on the campus of Emory University.

Colorado raced out to an early two-set lead and never relented, using a hitting percentage of .477 across three games to dispatch the Pirates. Whitworth had no answer for the Tigers' Jordan Mullen, as the senior registered a game-high 17 kills and finished with a .640 hitting percentage.

The Tigers also relied on the defensive efforts of junior Isa Aragon-Menzel, who totaled 10 digs, and the distributive talents of Lizzy Counts, who accounted for 32 assists to go with her 5 kills. For the Pirates, Emiko Kahler led her team with 10 kills, while Kiana Vandaele and Joelle Forbes ended with eight digs and 14 assits, respectively.

Colorado College now awaits the results of the Maryville (Tenn.) and Berry College match to find out which foe they will face tomorrow (Nov. 16) at 2:30 P.M. EST.
