Berry Sweeps Emory Volleyball in Top-10 Matchup

The Emory University volleyball team fell on the road to in-state rival Berry College Tuesday night, dropping the matchup between two top-10 programs in three sets in Mount Berry, Georgia.

The No. 10 ranked Vikings outplayed the No. 6 ranked Eagles across the three sets with Emory leading just once as Berry picked up the 25-11, 25-21, 25-16 victory. With the win, the Vikings have won 14 of their last 15 to improve to 14-3 overall while the loss makes the Eagles 10-5 on the season.

Emory committed 20 errors on the attack while hitting a season-low .042 (25-20-118). Berry operated at a .305 kill percentage with 42 kills and just 10 errors with Jazzy Innis tallying a match-high 14 terminations and was one of three Vikings with double-digit digs.

For the Eagles, junior Carly Wallace had a team-best seven kills while junior Amanda Meyer and sophomores Madison Cail and Jessica Majka each had four kills apiece. Wallace added a team-high 13 digs with sophomore Sarah Luong doling out 13 assists on the team's 25 kills.

The Eagles will look to rebound Friday afternoon as they host another SAA foe in Hendrix College. First serve from the WoodPEC is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
