Erica Lear joined the Emory volleyball coaching staff in the spring of 2012.

Lear enjoyed a standout career at the University of Tennessee where started at setter for four years (1998-2001).  As a senior, she captured First Team All-Southeastern Conference recognition after landing second-team acclaim as a sophomore and junior.  She closed out her caeer as the school's all-time leader with 5,069 assists, a mark that still ranked second prior to the start of the 2012 campaign. 

A native of Columbus, Indiana, Lear earned her bachelor's degree from Tennessee in English  with a double emphasis in creative writing and technical writing.  Following her graduation, she has coached the A5 Volleyball Club 16s team to nationals (2005) and has also competed for the Danish championship squad in 2006.
