school history with a 3,549-609 mark.
Senior (2007):
Paced the Eagles in three of her five competitions including a
third-place effort overall out of 186 runners at the NCAA
South/Southeast Regional Championships which sparked an impressive
3-5-6-16-22 team finish and enabled her to claim All-Region honors
for the fourth straight year ... Driving force in the Eagles'
first-place finish at Pre-Nationals (Northfield, MN) as she paced
the Emory contingent while crossing the line in third position out
of 186 entries ... Her team-best time of of 18:51 at the Bulldog
Stampede ranked her 19th out of 80 contestants and proved to the
the best 5K of the year ... At the UAA Championships, she was the
team's No. 2 runner with a 6K mark of 22:59 placing seventh in the
78-runner field, good for a first-team spot on the All-UAA Team for
the first time in her career after bringing home second-team
recognition her previous three years ... Second among Emory runners
and 88th out of 280 competitors at the NCAA Championships.
Junior (2006):
Shores got off to a blazing start and was the team's top runner in
the first two meets of the year, finishing fourth overall, at both
the Sewanee Invitational (159 runners) and the Alabama Crismon
Classic (131 runners). Her 5K time of 18:29 at the Alabama
Crimson Classic was the best effort by an Emory runner for that
distance during the season and tied for 21st on the school's
all-time list. After ranking as the team's No. 2 runner at
the Great American Cross Country Festival (4th overall out of 149
contestants), Shores paced the team and finished 10th overall in a
field of 162 at the always competitive University of
Wisconsin-Oshkosh Invitational. At the conference
championship, Shores' ninth-place finish enabled her to claim
Second Team All-UAA recognition. Shores would go on and earn
All-Region honors after finishing sixth overall at the
South/Southeast Regional Championship.
Sophomore (2005):
Shores earned all-region honors for the second time, finishing
sixth out of 150 runners at the NCAA regional meet. She earned
all-UAA second team honors for the second time, finishing 11th at
the conference meet. She ran a career-best time of 17:58 at the
Auburn Invitational. This is the fourth-fastest 5k time in school
history and the best since 2002. Shores finished in the top five
for the Eagles in every meet this season and was Emory's top runner
in five consecutive meets. Her win count of 911 and her winning
percentage of .821 were both third-best on the team. Her season
average time of 18:59 was second best for the Eagles. She won the
Coach's Award for the team.
Freshman (2004): Shores earned a spot on the all-region and all-conference
teams this season. She finished 20th at the NCAA regional
championships and 10th at the conference championships. Shores'
highest finish of the season came at the Sewanee Invitational where
she finished eighth overall out of 155 runners. Shores ran her best
time of the season at the Clemson invitational, in 19 minutes and
six seconds, In seven of the eight races Shores ran this season,
she was a top-five finisher for Emory. Shores' performance this
season earned her the team's Most Outstanding Newcomer award.
Additionally, she earned a spot on the Southregionrunning.com
Regional All-Freshman First Team.
