Results
The Emory University women's cross country team, ranked 30th in the
nation, took home first place out of 10 teams at the Jacksonville
State University Foothills Invitational. The event was held
at the Oxford Lake and Recreation Center in Oxford, Alabama.
The Eagles registered 20 points and were followed by host
Jacksonville State's 64 points. West Alabama captured third
place while Alabama-Huntsville recorded 107 points, good for the
fourth position.
Emory senior Rebecca Flink took home the top spot in the 92-runner
field, covering the 5K course in a time of 18:45. Sophomore
Tess Galleos was runner-up, crossing the finish line at
18:55. Junior Natlie Fenn (4th, 19:10), freshman
Melanie Frank (6th, 19:21) and junior Jenny Feinberg
(7th, 19:27) rounded out the team's scorers.
Emory returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 17, when it competes at
the Quaker Invitational in Greensboro, NC.
