Melanie Frank Named UAA Women's Cross Country Athlete Of The Week

Emory University junior Melanie Frank (Novelty, OH) has been named the University Athletic Association Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week following her performance at the Jacksonville State Foothills Invitational last Saturday.  It marks the first time in her career that she has been selected for the honor.

Frank helped the Eagles to a first-place finish out of 12 squads at the Invitational after finishing fourth overall out of 111 runners with a team-best 5k time of 18:30. Her effort spearheaded a strong overall team showing that saw the Eagles place five runners among the top 10 overall finishers. Frank has been a model of consistency so far this year, ranking among the team's top two runners in three of her four competitions and pacing the squad twice (at the Griak Invitational and the JSU Foothills Invitational).

The Eagles, ranked 17th among D-III programs nationally, return to action on October 15 when they participate in the UW-Oshkosh/Brooks Invitational in Winneconne, Wisconsin.
