Senior Elise Viox spearheaded the 28th-ranked women's cross country team to a first-place finish out of 22 squads in the Division II, III and NAIA competition at the Furman Classic.  

Viox covered the 6K course in a personal-best time of 22:32, leading the team and good for the No. 4 slot out of 206 entries.  Her performance aided in all of Emory's scorers placing in the top 15 of the meet.

Emory registered 50 points, bettering runner-up Montevallo (57 pts,) and and No. 3 finisher Lee University (82 pts.).
