Senior Heather Beavers lead the Emory women's cross country team at the UTC Twilight Meet, as she was the first Eagle to cross the finish line.

Beavers placed 31st out of 88 runners, recording a 15:51.12 in the 4K race, a competition that saw a number of D1 teams participate.

Beavers' performance aided in securing the ninth-place out of the 12 teams in attendance with 120 points, and placed fifth out of seven non-D1 teams. Beavers' Eagles were able to defeat in-state rival, DII West Georgia, as well as DI Alabama A&M and Tennessee State behind her effort.
