The Emory women's cross country team sent a crew of runners to Logan Township, New Jersey to participate in the Rowan Border Battle on Saturday morning. Those who made the trip made sure to make the most of it, with five runners finishing in the top-20 of a 260-person field. The Eagles finished first with a score of 37, more than 60 points better than second-place Misericordia.

Highlighting the day for the Eagles were graduate student Brigid Hanley and junior Liesl Scherrer, who finished first and second overall, respectively. Hanley clocked in at 21:27.2 and Scherrer was close behind, finishing in 21:36.8. Scherrer's time topped her previous season-best by more than two minutes when she clocked in at 23:45.7 at the Lehigh Paul Short Run.

Junior Jenna Daly turned in a top-10 performance as well, crossing the finish line at 22:11.7 in seventh place, a new personal best time in the 6k. Rounding out the results for the Eagles were freshman Cameron Gupta at 22:28.2 in 12th, junior Natalie Sandlow at 22:31.5 in 16th, and freshman Payton Fleming at 22:54.7 in 29th.
