Weeg Named UAA Pitcher of the Week for Second Time in 2015

Emory University sophomore Jackson Weeg was named the University Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week, following his standout performance during the Eagles' 10-0 win over Covenant College last Tuesday.

This was the second UAA Pitcher of the Week honor for Weeg this season, and the third of his career.

Weeg pitched eight shutout innings during the game, yielding just five hits and a pair of walks in the effort and needing to throw just 101 pitches in the game.  He allowed only three runners to reach as far as second base in the game, and retired 10-straight batters between the third and sixth innings.

Weeg improved to 9-1 on season with a 1.56 ERA, both bests among University Athletic Association pitchers this season.  He is second among NCAA Division III pitchers in wins, and his 60 strikeouts during the campaign rank 14th in the nation.

Weeg and the Eagles will enter their final week of the 2015 regular season with a 23-11 record.  Emory will be back in action on Tuesday, April 21st at 7:00 pm at LaGrange College.
