Emory Defeats Millsaps 4-0 for Second-Straight Win

The Emory University men's soccer team brought its record back to .500 for the season with its second-straight win on Saturday afternoon, as the Eagles defeated Millsaps College 4-0 at the Woodruff P.E. Center.

The Eagles are now 4-4-1 on the season, while Millsaps dropped to 1-5-1 on the campaign with the loss.

For the second game in a row, it would be senior Andrew Natalino and junior Dylan Price keying the Eagles' offensive attack.  Emory took the lead in the 14th minute on Price's fourth goal in the last two games, and seventh overall this season, scoring on a shot after a cross from Natalino from the near side.  Freshman Nick Schook, who started the break downfield for the Eagles, received an assist on the play as well.

Natalino would notch a goal of his own in the 24th minute to extend the Eagles' lead to 2-0, and run his consecutive-game scoring streak to five.  Once again, a pass from Schook set up a run into the box for Natalino, whose shot went past the keeper and off the far post, bouncing into the net for the goal.

Meanwhile, Emory's defense turned in a stout first half, holding the majors without a shot during the first frame.

Natalino would strike again in the second half, going on a long run up the near sideline and avoiding a number of defenders, before finally launching a shot into the net from inside the box in the 61st minute.  It was the team-leading eighth goal of the season for the Eagles' co-captain, putting the team up 3-0.

The Eagles capped off their scoring with Zachary Rosenberg's second goal of the season, as the sophomore sent a ball off a defender that ricocheted into the net to cap off the 4-0 win.

Freshman goalkeeper Abe Hannigan played the first 73 minutes, making one save en route to his second-straight victory.  The Eagles defense limited Millsaps to six shots in the game, just two of which were on goal.

The Eagles will return to action on Wednesday, traveling to Sewanee for a 7:00 PM game, the team's last contest before the start of the University Athletic Association (UAA) season.
