Sophomore Jason Andrejchak and freshmen Austin Mirabella and Jason McCartney each registered goals, and the Eagles' defense recorded its first shutout of the campaign, as the 24^th-ranked Eagles opened play at the Berry College Invitational in Rome, Georgia on Saturday afternoon with a 3-0 upset win over 14^th-ranked Ohio Northern University.

The win was the second-straight for the Eagles, who improved to 2-0-1 overall for the 2014 campaign. 

Andrejchak got the Eagles on the board in the 16^th-minute of play, heading in his first goal of the season off a pass from senior forward Dylan Price.  It was the second assist of the campaign for Price.

Mirabella added an insurance goal late in the first half, notching his first collegiate score off a deflection in the 37^th minute of action.  Early in the second frame, McCartney capped off the Eagles' scoring, collecting a loose ball of a corner kick and converting it for his first collegiate goal.

Emory outshot Ohio Northern 15-9 in the game, including a 7-4 edge in shots on goal.  Junior goalkeeper Abe Hannigan made four saves during the contest, en route to picking up his 10^th career shutout, tying him for the eighth-most in the program's history.

The loss was the first of the season for the Polar Bears, who dropped to 2-1-0. 

The Eagles will resume play the Berry College Invitational in Rome on Sunday, September 7^th at 4:00 PM, when Emory takes on Ramapo College.
