To be named to a Scholar All-America Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) throughout his or her career; start more than 50 percent of all games and be a significant contributor to the team; and be nominated by an institution that is a current NSCAA College Services member

Sherr, who is completing his Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance and Accounting degree and owns a 3.859 GPA, recently completed his senior season with the Eagles, recording career highs in goals (4) and points (10). He was named to the NSCAA South Atlantic All-Region and All-University Athletic Association First Teams earlier this postseason. Previously this year, Sherr was named a CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team selection for the first time in his career.

Matt is the sixth player in the history of the men's soccer program to be named a NSCAA Scholar All-American and the first since Karl Dix in 2007.
