Feldman, Peterson and Lucas Named to NSCAA All-Region Teams

Emory University senior forward Emily Feldman was named to the NSCAA/ Continental Tire All-South Atlantic Region Second Team, while senior defender Kaelyn Lucas and junior defender Ally Peterson each earned a berth to the third team.

The honors were the first career all-region honors for each of the three players.

Feldman, who was named to the all-University Athletic Association (UAA) First Team earlier in the year, finished the 2014 season with a team-high seven goals and 16 points overall, including three game winners.  In addition, she was selected as the UAA Offensive Athlete of the Week on September 29th and November 10th.

Lucas, another all-UAA First Team honoree in 2014, provided a veteran presence for an Emory defense that conceded just five goals in conference games of a 0.63 goals-against average.  The outside back played every minute of the Eagles' seven conference games, and added an assist on a goal against Case Western Reserve.  For the season, she recorded a pair of assists, while helping the team record a 0.44 goals-against average, the 13th-best mark among Division III teams.

Peterson, an all-UAA second team honoree, emerged as a key player for the Eagles' defense, playing 695 minutes over the seven UAA games, and starting each.  She helped to limit opponents to 74 shots and 34 shots on goal in conference play, and was named the UAA Defensive Athlete of the Week on November 3rd after leading the team to shutouts over Rochester and Case Western Reserve.  For the year, the defender was the only Emory player to have started all 19 games and led all Eagles in minutes played, while helping limit the opposition to averages of 7.6 shots and 3.4 shots on goal per game.

Emory finished the 2014 season with an overall record of 11-2-6, qualifying for the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championships for a program-record fifth-consecutive season.
