The Emory University women's tennis team, ranked third in Division III, earned a come-from-behind 6-3 win over Brenau University on Wednesday at the Woodruff P.E. Center to claim its fourth-consecutive victory.

The Eagles fell behind early in the game, with their only doubles victory coming from sophomore Malavika Padmanabhan and Brenna Kelly in the third doubles match, with the duo earning an 8-4 win.  Kelly and Padmanabhan improved to 4-1 this year with the victory.

Despite trailing 2-1 heading into singles play, the Eagles were able to turn in a dominant performance in the individual matches, winning five of the six, each in straight sets.  In second singles, senior Zahra Dawson earned a 6-4, 6-3 win, while freshman Lauren Pinsky claimed a 6-3, 6-3 victory in the third singles match.  Padmanabhan defeated her fourth-singles counterpart from Brenau 7-5, 6-2, and freshman Allie Damico won in fifth singles, 6-4, 6-1.  Rounding out the day, sophomore Taylor Brandt won the sixth singles match by a 6-0, 6-3 score.

With the win, the Eagles raised their record to 4-2 overall this season, while Brenau dropped to 2-3.

The Eagles will now head to Puerto Rico for their spring trip, as the team will face the University of Puerto Rico – Mayaguez at 10:00 AM on March 13th.
