With one round of singles play being contested on Friday afternoon, Emory competitors claimed wins in seven of the 10 matches they participated in.  Players claiming victories and advancing to the semifinal round of their draws included sophomore Madison Gordon (6-1, 6-0 over Florida Atlantic's Natalia Tomaszewicz), junior Rebecca Siegler (7-5, 6-3 over Georgia Southern's Mary Phillips Smith), freshman Melissa Goodman (6-3, 6-4 over Stetson's MayaBlue Stauffer-MacDowell), freshman Katarina Su (6-4, 6-1 over Kennesaw State's Tamara Plotcher), junior Catharine Harris (6-0, 6-0 over Savannah State's Nicole Ashiedu), junior Danielle Truitt (6-0, 2-6, 10-4 over Florida Atlantic's Maria Suger) and freshman Bruna Correa (6-2, 6-4 over Georgia Southern's McKinsey Fiveash).

Two rounds of the doubles draws were played out on Friday afternoon as well, with a pair of Emory squads advancing to the semifinals of their respective draws.  Emory's Gordon and Satterfield defeated their first-round opponents, Virginie Stein and Isabela Castro of Kennesaw State, 8-6, and followed with an 8-2 win over Stacia Kissel and Nicole Nielly of Western Carolina in the quarterfinals.  In the second draw, senior Gabrielle Clark and Goodman earned an 8-3 victory over Georgia Southern's Mary Phillips Smith and Stephanie Woods in the first round, and followed with another 8-3 win in the quarterfinals against Sara Ruiz Pajares and Erin Maguire of Western Carolina.

Also claiming a doubles victory on Friday was the Emory pairing of Correa and senior Brenna Kelly, who bounced back from a first-round loss to win 8-0 over Andrea Pavlovic and Olsen of Savannah State in the consolation match.
