Eagles Extend Winning Streak with 9-0 Win over Brenau

The second-ranked Emory University Women's Tennis team ran its winning streak to seven-straight matches with a 9-0 win over Brenau University at the Woodruff Physical Education Center on Tuesday night.

The shutout was the seventh of the season for the Eagles, who improved to 19-2 overall this season with the victory.  Brenau dropped to 13-8 with the loss.

Emory earned a sweep of the doubles matches, with an 8-6 win from Gabrielle Clark and Michelle Satterfield in the first match, an 8-4 victory from Brenna Kelly and Katarina Su at the second match, and an 8-0 win from Beatrice Rosen and Rebecca Siegler at third singles.  It was the 102nd career doubles win for Clark, putting her three shy of the program record.

Clark later earned her 95th career doubles win with a 6-1, 6-1 win at first singles. Other singles wins for Emory came from Rosen in the second match (6-1, 6-0), Satterfield in the third match (6-3, 6-2), Melissa Goodman in the fourth match (7-5, 2-0, ret.), Madison Gordon in the fifth match (6-1, 6-0) and Su in the sixth match (6-1, 6-3).

After taking the rest of the week off from competition, the Eagles will return to action on Monday, April 21st, when they travel to face Georgia Gwinnett College at 3:30 PM.
