Emory University senior Gabrielle Clark was selected as the University Athletic Association (UAA) Women's Tennis Player of the Week, after reaching a pair of career milestones and leading the top-ranked Eagles to a pair of wins at the 2014 NCAA Championships last weekend.

During Emory's 5-0 win over Berry in the second round of the NCAA Championships on Saturday, Clark teamed with freshman Michelle Satterfield to win the first doubles match by an 8-1 score, and led 6-1, 5-0 in the first singles match before play was stopped.  The doubles win was the 106^th of her career, pushing Clark past former Eagle Zahra Dawson for the most over a career in school history.  On Sunday, she helped the Eagles to another 5-0 win, this time over 19^th-ranked Washington and Lee University in the third round, defeating the Atlantic South Region's fifth-ranked pairing 8-4 in first doubles, and earning a 6-0, 6-0 win over the region's second-ranked singles player at no. 1 singles.  The singles win was the 100^th of her career, as Clark joined former Eagle Mary Ellen Gordon as the only two players in program history to break the century mark in singles wins. 

Clark improved to 16-4 this season in singles play and to 21-7 in doubles action.  She entered the NCAA Division III Championships ranked first in the Atlantic South Region in singles play, and second in doubles competition, and was selected to compete in both the singles and doubles draws at the NCAA Individual Championships.  This was her fourth UAA Athlete of the Week honor this season, and the 17^th of her career.

The Eagles, ranked first in Division III, set a program record with their 25^th win of the season, and will advance to the NCAA Quarterfinals for the seventh-straight season to face ninth-ranked Washington University (Mo.) on May 19^th in Claremont, California.
