2015-16 Emory Women's Track & Field Athletes of the Week

    Senior Julie Williamson qualified for nationals after again setting the Emory top mark in the 800m Run with a time of 2:10.71 in a fourth place finish at the Gregory Invitational. Williamson now owns the three fastest times in Emory history in the event, all coming in the past three times she has taken to the track.

    Sophomore distance runner Gabrielle Stravach broke the school record in the 1500m Run on Friday afternoon at the Dr. Keeler Invitational at North Central College. She finished sixth in the event with a time of 4:36.42, besting the previous record of 4:40.70.

    Senior distance runner Julie Williamson set a new school record in the 800m Run at the Kentucky Relays, besting the 26-year old previous mark by .12 seconds. Williamson ran a time of 2:11.87 to win the event in a field comprised almost entirely of Division I runners.

    Sophomore Valerie Linck lead all Emory field performers at the Mount Laurel Invitational with a first place showing in the high jump and a fourth place effort in the long jump (4.78m). Her high jump mark of 1.60m was a new season-best mark in the event for the Eagles and is the third best mark in the UAA this season.

    Freshman sprinter Dilys Osei had a tremendous showing for the Eagles at the Mount Laurel Invitational this past Friday. Osei had two individual first place showings in the 200m Dash and 100m Hurdles and ran the first leg of Emory's first place 4x100 relay team. Both her 200m (25.32) and 100m Hurdles (15.04) represented new season-best times for Emory in each event and in the top three among UAA athletes, 2nd in the 100m Hurdles and 3rd in the 200m Dash. The 4x100 relay team also clocked in with a new team season best time, finishing at 47.83, which ranks second in the UAA.

    Freshman Dilys Osei set a new Emory season best time in the 100m Hurdles with a time of 15.15 in a second place finish in the event at the Berry Field Day Invitational. Her time ranks as the third fastest in the UAA this season and 32nd nationally. Osei added a third place finish in the 400m Hurdles with a time of 1:06.85.

    Sophomore Abigail Hotaling ran a time of 11:26.72 in a seventh place finish the 3000m Steeplechase in a field of mostly Division I runners. Her time was the fastest by an Emory runner in the event so far this season and was the 2nd fastest time posted in the UAA this season.

    Sophomore Valerie Linck recorded an outdoor personal best mark in the shot put at the VertKlasse Meeting held at High Point University. Linck placed 19th in the event with a mark of 11.44m. Her mark is the best mark by an Eagle so far this outdoor season and is the third best mark recorded in the UAA.

    Senior Alexandra Aiello led the Emory field performers at the Emory Classic with a third place finish in the long jump (5.20m) and a fourth place showing in the triple jump (10.63m), both marks rank second in the UAA through the first two outdoor weekends. Aiello also ran the first leg of Emory's first place 4x100 relay team (48.75) and placed fourth in the 100m Dash with a time of 12.60.

    Sophomore Erica Goldman assisted the Emory women in winning the Emory Classic over the weekend with two first place showings. Goldman won the 400m Dash with a time of 56.59 and ran the anchor leg of the Eagles' first place 4x400 relay team which finished with a time of 3:53.94 which was almost 11 seconds faster than the rest of the field. Goldman's 400 time ranks as the top UAA time so far this season and the second fastest in Division III while the relay sits with the second fastest DIII time after the weekend.

    Freshman sprinter Dani Bland posted UAA-leading times in both the 100m Dash (12.16) and 200m Dash (25.98) and ran the anchor leg in Emory's fifth place 4x100 relay team which clocked in at 48.73, the third fastest time in Division III this weekend. Her 100 time ranks her second in the country so far this season and her 200 time places her 13th nationally.

    Senior Aileen Rivell ran a school record time in the 3,000m Run at 9:59.35 at the Tufts Last Chance Meet on Friday night. Her time moved her up to 17th nationally in the event and will now await word on possible a NCAA selection to next week's NCAA Indoor Championships.

    Senior Alexandra Aiello led the Emory women at the 2016 UAA Indoor Championships, winning the triple jump (11.07m), taking second in the long jump (5.34m) and was fifth in the 60m Dash (8.03).

    Freshman Dilys Osei earned three All-UAA honors for the Eagles at the 2016 UAA Indoor Championships. Osei took second in the 200m Dash (25.48), third in the 60m Hurdles (9.12) and was part of the 4x400m relay team that placed third with a new school record time of 3:51.35.

    Freshman Dani Bland took first place in the 200m Dash at 26.33 and added a second place finish in the 55m Dash at 7.39 to lead Emory at the Sewanee Indoor Invitational on Saturday.

    Freshman Jordan Small came in first in the high jump with a mark of 1.50m and added a second place finish in the long jump at 4.72m for the Eagles at the Sewanee Indoor Invitational.

    Competing against mostly Division I schools at the Samford Open, senior Alexandra Aiello placed 17th in the long jump with a new UAA-leading mark of 10.24m. The distance was a new personal best in the event. Aiello also took part in the 60m dash, running a time of 8.11 to place 42nd.

    Senior distance runner Aileen Rivell broke the school record in the 3000m at the Samford Open over the weekend. Rivell ran a time of 10:03.38, besting the previous indoor record by over four seconds. She out ran Division I runners by over nine seconds to place second in the event.

    Senior Alexandra Aiello posted three fifth place finishes for the Eagles at the Tiger Indoor Invitational over the weekend. Aiello recorded a new season-best mark in the triple jump at 10.77m. Her TJ score was also the best mark registered in the event among UAA athletes this season. She added a 4.95m distance in the long jump and clocked in at 7.54 in the 55m Dash.

    Freshman sprinter Dilys Osei had a strong showing for the Eagles at the Tiger Indoor Invitational on Saturday afternoon. Osei took first in the 55m Hurdles with a time of 8.74 and added a second place finish in the 400m Dash, clocking in at 1:01.07.

    Sophomore Erica Goldman led the Emory women at the Bob Pollock Invitational, taking second in the 400m Dash with a new personal best 58.26. It was the fifth-best individual time in school history, the 9th fastest in DIII this season and the second fastest time among UAA runners in the event. Goldman also anchored the 4x400 Relay which took fourth in the event with a time of 3:55.29, mostly against DI opponents. Their time was the second fastest mark posted in DIII this season.

    Senior Alexandra Aiello led the Emory women in the field events, taking ninth in the long jump at 5.00m and 10th in the triple jump at 10.67m. Both events featured athletes from all divisions. Aiello also competed in the 60m Dash (48th, 8.19) and 200m Dash (25th, 27.25).

    Senior Julie Williamson had another stellar showing in the 800m Run Collegiate Division at the Crossplex Invitational, taking first in the event with a time of 2:13.98. Her time broke the meet record and set the school record in the event, breaking the previous marks of 2:15.43 and 2:15.27, respectively.

    Williamson had an outstanding meet for the Eagles at the ETSU Invitational. She took first in the seeded 800m Run with a time of 2:15.77, the fastest mark posted in DIII this season and the third fastest in school history. The senior added a first place finish in the unseeded one-mile run with a time of 5:20.41.

    In her first career meet, freshman Amanda Martin placed fifth in the 3,000m run to earn the only points for Emory during the BSC Panther Icebreaker. She had a time of 10:26.30 and was the top division III runner in the event.
