  • Mia Eisenhandler
    May 22, 2017
    Senior Mia Eisenhandler represented the Eagles last week at the Gregory Invitational at North Central College, winning the 3000m Steeplechase event. Eisenhandler was the top collegian in the event, posting a time of 10:55.26 as she outpaced the 11 other participants to win the event by over six seconds.

    Junior Gabrielle Stravach shaved almost six seconds off her personal best time to set a new school record in the 1500m Run Friday night at the Dr. Keeler Invitational. She turned in a time of 4:30.65 which places her first among UAA leaders and fifth nationally.

    Senior Mia Eisenhandler turned in a new personal-best time of 11:16.52 in a first place showing in the 3000m Steeplechase to lead the Eagles at UGA's Torrin Lawrence Memorial on Saturday. He time moved her into 3rd place on the UAA leaderboard and 35th nationally.

    Sophomore Dani Bland won a pair of events Friday evening at the Mountain Laurel Invitational, helping Emory to a second place finish at the meet. Bland won the 100m Dash with a time of 12.18 before winning the 200m Dash in a time of 24.66.

    Freshman Gabrielle Davis was second in the long jump added a first place effort in the 110m Hurdles to help Emory to a second place finish at the Mountain Laurel Invitational. Davis posted a mark of 4.80m in the LJ and later clocked in at 15.91 to win the 100m Hurdles.

    Sophomore Dani Bland broke the school record in the 200m Dash with a time of 24.41. It was her second school record set this spring and she now ranks second in the UAA and third nationally in the 200m Dash with her time. Bland was part of Emory's first place 4x100m Relay team that posted a time of 48.35, a mark that stands first in the UAA and eighth nationally. Bland also competed in the 100m Dash, finishing second at 12.27.
  • Gracie Potokar

    Sophomore Gracie Potokar recorded a distance of 11.70m in the shot put over the weekend, placing second overall in the event. Her mark was a new career best and moved her to second on the UAA leaderboard. Emory won the Berry Field Day Invitational, finishing first out of 17 schools with 167 team points.
  • Nyla Lindo

    Freshman Nyla Lindo improved her standing in the triple jump over the weekend, climbing to first in the UAA and 14th nationally with her mark of 11.20m. She finished 11th overall in the event at the VertKlasse Meeting and was the top DIII finisher. Lindo also competed in the long jump (4.84m) and the high jump (1.43m) at the meet.

    Junior Gabrielle Stravach nearly broke her own school record in the 1500m Run on Friday at the VertKlasse Meeting, finishing sixth overall in a time of 4:36.46. Her time currently stand 1st among UAA leaders and fourth nationally. Stravach also competed in the 800m Run, placing 13th with a time of 2:18.77. Her time currently places fifth in the UAA and 41st in Division III.

    Sophomore Dani Bland maintained the top spot on the Division III leaderboards as she broke the Emory school record in the 100m Dash with a time of 11.70 at the Emory Classic on Saturday. Bland also climbed to 10th in the country in the 200m Dash with a time of 25.45 and was a member of the 4x100m Rela that moved into sixth in the nation with a time of 48.66 at the meet. She also competed in the 4x400m Relay which finished in a time of 4:14.21. Bland currently ranks 1st in the UAA in both the 100m and 200m Dashes and the 4x100m Relay.

    Freshman Isabel Saridakis climbed to 39th in the country and sixth in the UAA in the pole vault following her performance at the Emory Classic this past weekend. Saridakis placed second in the event with her mark of 3.22m.
  • Dani Bland

    Sophomore Dani Bland shined in the 100m Dash for the Eagles over the weekend, posting a sub-12 seconds time to finish second in the event. Bland became just the second Emory women to crack the under 12 seconds barrier in school history with her 11.99 mark. She currently ranks 1st in the UAA and 1st nationally. Bland acted as the anchor in Emory's 4x100m relay team which clocked in a time of 49.28. The group's time stands 1st in the UAA and sixth nationally. Bland also competed in the 200m Dash, posting a time of 25.79 which places her second in the UAA and ninth nationally.

    Freshman Nyla Lindo competed in all three jumps for the Eagles this past weekend at the Emory Invitational, helping the Eagles to a fourth place finish out of 35 schools. Lindo turned in marks of 11.05m in the triple jump, 5.23m in the long jump and 1.47m in the high jump. She currently ranks first in the UAA in both the triple and long jumps and seventh and 13th, respectively, among Division III qualifiers.

    Sophomore Dani Bland improved her national standing in the 200m Dash at the Tufts last Chance National Qualifier, taking second in the event in a personal-best time of 25.41. Her time was the fifth-fastest in program history and moved her to 17th nationally and third among the UAA leaders. She added a first place in the 60m Dash at the meet, clocking in at 7.81.

    Freshman Gabrielle Davis claimed one of Emory's seven first place victories at the Sewanee Indoor Invitational and added a second place effort in the 55m Hurdles. Davis recorded a new personal-best in the long jump at 5.24 to win the event and later clocked in at 8.99 in the finals of the 55m Hurdles to place second. She sits fourth in the UAA in the long jump and 11th in the 60m Hurdles with her converted 55m time.

    Sophomore Dilys Osei won the 55m Hurdles event on Friday at the Sewanee Indoor Invitational, helping Emory to a second place finish at the meet. She clocked in a time of 8.84 in the finals en route to the win. Osei added a fourth place effort in the 55m Dash, finishing in a time of 7.50 in the finals. She currently sits 8th in the UAA in the 60m Hurdles with her 55m Hurdles converted time.

    Sophomore Dilys Osei recorded a team season-best time in the 60m Hurdles at 9.49 this past weekend at the Samford Open. Her time places her seventh in the event among UAA leaders. She also was part of the 4x400m Relay that clocked in with a season-best mark of 3.59.99, a time that stands as the third-fastest in the conference this year.

    Freshman Isabel Saridakis broke the Emory school record in the pole vault at the Tiger Indoor Invitational over the weekend. Saridakis turned in the Eagles' lone first place showing at the meet, with a dominant effort in the event. Saridakis posted a mark of 3.41m while the next best finisher was at a height of 3.05m. Her 3.41m set the school record in the event, narrowly eclipsing Tracy Whittaker's previous top mark of 3.40m set in 2008. Currently, she ranks sixth in the UAA and 41st in Division III.

    Senior Michelle Kagei posted a personal-best time in the 5000m Run over the weekend as the Eagles competed at the Buccaneer Invitational at East Tennessee State University. Kagei placed second overall and was the top Division III finisher with a time of 18:18.36. With that time, Kagei now stands fourth in the UAA standings in the event.

    Sophomore Jordan Small recorded an Emory season-best mark in the high jump to lead all Eagle field performers this weekend at the Buccaneer Invitational at East Tennessee State University. Small finished tied for 11th overall with a mark of 1.53m. With that mark, she moved to seventh overall among UAA leaders in the event.

    Sophomore Dani Bland impressed at the KMS Invitational over the weekend, registering a personal-best in the 200m Dash at 25.57 as well as tying a PR in the 60m Dash at 7.86. Her 200m time was the eighth-fastest in school history and places her 2nd and 18th among the UAA and national ranks, respectively. Additionally, her 60m Dash time ranks third in the UAA and 12th among Division III leaders.

    Freshman Nyla Lindo posted a career-high 1.52m in a second place finish in the high jump, was 11th in the triple jump (10.22m) and 24th in the long jump (4.56m) helping Emory to a 3rd place finish out 23 schools at the Emory Crossplex Invitational, competing against schools from every NCAA division. Following her performances on Sunday, Lindo currently ranks 4th in the high jump, 7th in the triple jump and 15th in the long jump among UAA leaders.

    Junior Gabrielle Stravach recorded the lone first place victory for Eagles, men or women, on Sunday at the Emory Crossplex Invitational, taking first in the 3000m Run against runners from all NCAA divisions. Her time of 10:16.54 currently ranks 6th among UAA leaders and 23rd nationally.

    Sophomore Ariana Newhouse was the lone non-DI runner to advance to the finals of the 400m Dash at the ETSU Invitational with a time of 59.64, the fifth fastest time during prelims. Her time ranks first in the UAA and 17th nationally. Newhouse added a 30th place showing in the 200m Dash with a time of 26.69, a time that places her fourth among UAA performers.

    Freshman Amy Hunter had an impressive debut for the Eagles on Friday. In the triple jump, Hunter placed fifth among DI and DIII competitors with a mark of 11.26m. That distance was the second longest in program history and currently ranks fifth nationally.

    Senior Alexa Young posted a time of 2:20.72 in the 800m Run to finish fourth in the event at the BSC Indoor Icebreaker on Friday. Her time was her second fastest time of her career and currently ranks seventh nationally in the event.
