The Emory Black Student-Athlete Group (BSAG) supports student-athletes who have lived experiences in, identify with, or are committed to the empowerment and culture of the Black diaspora in and out of the athletic community at a Predominately White Institution (PWI).  BSAG strives to create a safe and positive environment, foster community between sports, and celebrate their many intersecting identities and cultures; while continuing to advocate for their personal, professional, academic, and athletic success.

In September of 2022, BSAG was established on the advocacy of previous Black student-athletes at Emory. Continuing that legacy, the BSAG executive board will work closely with leadership in the athletics department to address concerns that directly impact BSAG members.

In addition, BSAG will cultivate the community by hosting mission-driven events, holding monthly meetings, partnering with faculty and staff, providing additional support to graduate and undergraduate student-athletes, and partnering with other Black identity groups within Campus Life to assist in supporting our collegiate and post-collegiate lives. Therefore, permitting us to to expand our influence and presence in the Emory community.
