The No. 1-ranked Emory University men's golf team closed out a memorable effort at the 29th annual Gordin Classic on Tuesday. The 54-hole event was played on the 7,098-yard, par-72 Columbus Country Club in Ohio.

The Eagles posted a final-day score of three-under par 285 to close out the tourney with a school-record score of 11-under 853 (290-278-285), good for third place out of 15 teams.  The final total bettered the program's previous 54-hole standard of 855 set at the 2017 Rhodes College Fall Classic. Illinois Wesleyan took home first-place honors with a blistering performance of 24-under par 840 (285-277-278) while Huntingdon College was six shots off the pace at 846 (285-280-281).  Guilford College and Wittenberg tied for fourth at 864.

The Eagles saw two players break par on Tuesday, with sophomore Logan Ryan and senior Sam Galloway each registering two-under par 70.   Galloway totaled a team-high five birdies on the day, four on the back nine, while Ryan finished with four birdies.  Sophomore Max Schwarz carded and even-par 72, highlighted by an eagle 3 on the par-5, 531-yeard 10th hole. After placing his second shot over the green, Schwarz chipped in from about 12 yards out, registering one of tourney's 10 eagles.  Senior Matt Organisak and junior Eric Yiu each closed out their final rounds at one-over par 73.

Organisak wrapped up the Classic tops on the team and tied for fifth in the 75-player field with an effort of five-under par 211 (70-68-73), tying the program's sixth-best individual score for 54 holes. Ryan finished one shot behind Organisak and tied for 10th on the leader board at 212 (73-69-70).  Schwarz claimed a 19th-place standing at one-under 215 (73-70-72), ending the Classic with a team-leading 13 birdies. Galloway (75-71-70—216) and Yiu (74-71-73—218), finished tied for 22nd and 28th, respectively.

The Eagles return to action, Oct. 13-15, when they play at the Golfweek DIII Invitational in Sandestin, Florida.
