Emory Men's Golf Looks To Defend Golfweek DIII Invitational Title

The Emory men's golf team marches on through the fall portion of its schedule when it takes part at the Golfweek DIII Invitational.  The 54-hole tournament takes place Oct. 13-15 and will be held at the 6,660-yard, par-71 Raven Golf Club in Sandestin, Florida. Eighteen holes will be played each day.

The cream of the crop will make up this year's 18-team field with defending D-III national champion Illinois Wesleyan among the squads competing. In addition to Emory, a host of other top-10 squads will be aiming to wrestle the title away from the Eagles including Huntingdon College, Guilford College, Carnegie Mellon, Methodist University and Concordia (TX).

Comprising the Emory lineup for the Invitational will be seniors Matt Organisak and Sam Galloway, junior Eric Yiu, and sophomores Logan Ryan and Max Schwartz.

Emory won last year's Golfweek DIII Invitational, bettering runner-up Methodist by nine strokes.

In its most recent performance, the Eagles took home third place out of 15 teams at the Gordin Classic (Sept. – Oct. 1).  Organisak was the team's top scorer with a five-under par mark of 211, tying for fifth place out of 75 players.
